Tour from Casablanca to explore Morocco in 6 days

Day 1: Casablanca - Fes:

Explore Morocco in guided private tour from Casablanca.  The tour for 6 days starts today and we pick up you from your hotel in Casablanca and we drive towards Fes passing by Rabat and Meknes. We will make a short stops to visit the important places in those cities as well as the Roman ruins in Volubilis. We’ll arrive in the evening to Fes where we stay overnight in a traditional Moroccan riad with dinner.

Day 2: Exploring Fes in guided tour:

The Fes guided tour is the highlight of this 6 days tour. We explore the medina (the old city) with local guide. We walk inside its alleys , we visit the Jewish Quarter (called the Mellah) and also the Royal Palace.  We explore tanneries and the Quaraouine mosque. After lunch in the Medina, we explore new part of the city and you will have free program. Overnight accommodation at riad with dinner.

Day 3: Fes - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert:

After breakfast we travel towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”.  We stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco. We pass “Ziz Gorges” carved through volcanic rock and along the spectacular Ziz Valley. We’ll drive through Berber villages to Erfoud and then Rissani, before arriving to Merzouga. Here we check into our riad near the sand dunes with dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert tour and camel ride to overnight camp:

After a luxurious breakfast  you’ll start exploring the area. You’ll be visiting the Gnawa people in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about the Gnawa music and their lifestyle. . Afterwards, we’ll drive in Sahara Desert area where we can meet nomad families still living under Berber tents which are made from wool of their animals. Today our lunch will be a local meal (Berber pizza) with a Berber family . You have the option also to visit the old city of Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty - the current ruling royal family in Morocco.  Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksar (a fortified village with many towers) and has a big souk. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuctou in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, packed with spices, vegetables and cloths. Later we will drive back to the village of Merzouga, where your camel will be waiting for you ,Guided by an experienced camel man . the camel ride takes about 1 hour to arrive to the camp-where you will spend the night- in the middle of the highest sand dunes to enjoy the sunset and watch stars . the dinner will be served at the camp.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert - Todgha Gorges - Dades Valley:

Your camelman will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise in your life, then you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village .  En-route you won’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes - changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and shower in the Riad, you’ll leave for Rissani, Tinghir and Todgha Gorges - the highest, narrowest Gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight in our traditional guest house with dinner and breakfast.

Day 6: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate –Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech:

After breakfast we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M'Gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs - providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We’ll stop at Kalaat M'Gouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is overJ Your journey will continue to Marrakech  passing by Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah was built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 18th century, now it is a house of many Glaoui people. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, where we can stop to discover the way and the process of making the argain oil by the Berber women their cooperatives before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech.
